Volunteers Needed: Leads for Interpretive, Family-Friendly and Slow-Paced Activities

Join Irvine Ranch Conservancy (IRC) as a volunteer to connect with your community and explore the stunning Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks! Volunteering is not only personally fulfilling, but volunteers also make a meaningful impact in preserving the land and connecting people to its beauty. IRC manages nearly 30,000 acres of land within the Landmarks, and much of the work being done is accomplished by dedicated volunteers.
Currently, IRC is seeking volunteers to lead interpretive, family-friendly and slow-paced activities. Lead Volunteers undergo extensive training to lead nature tours within the Landmarks, catering to a wide audience. From casual walks for families to observe spring wildflowers to evening hikes on Hicks Haul Road, these activities are typically rated as Level 1 or 2 in difficulty. If you’re interested in becoming a Lead Volunteer, please complete a Volunteer Interest Form to receive an invitation to the next volunteer orientation. IRC provides the necessary specialized training for leading these activities.
New volunteers are always welcome and can contribute in various ways, whether through ongoing partnerships or one-time stewardship events. Other opportunities needed right now include assisting in duties with the Orange County Fire Watch program to protect the land and neighboring communities from wildfires, or working on IRC’s Native Seed Farm supporting restoration projects throughout the Landmarks.
Becoming a volunteer is a fantastic opportunity to explore, preserve and celebrate the land. Join the volunteer community with IRC!
