Irvine Ranch Conservancy Volunteer Friends & Family Day

Irvine Ranch Conservancy hosted a Friends & Family Day to show their support for volunteers as they experience the beauty of Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks with their loved ones #Volunteering #Conservation 🌳🌻

Volunteers play a vital role in the success of Irvine Ranch Conservancy (IRC). As a way of showing appreciation for their year-round dedication, IRC recently hosted a Friends & Family Day celebration. This event aimed to thank volunteers and welcome their friends and family to experience the land they help steward with their hard work and support.

The event took place at the Bommer Canyon Cattle Camp within the City of Irvine’s Irvine Open Space Preserve. Volunteers had the opportunity to explore the trails with their guests, allowing them to enjoy the land without the responsibility of leading this time around. Additionally, they could relax under the lush sycamore tree canopy in the beautiful Cattle Camp or wander in the adjacent recently renovated Bommer Nature Garden. The day also featured seasonal-themed arts and crafts for volunteers and their guests, such as creating paper pumpkins.

This event provided a great opportunity for volunteers and their friends and family to connect with IRC staff as well as learn more about the various volunteer roles/opportunities within the organization. This day was such a fulfilling way to express gratitude for their invaluable contributions.

“IRC could not do what we do without volunteers, and this celebration is a small token of gratitude for all their support. Having the opportunity to spend time with the volunteers outside of their normal role and meeting their friends and family who share their loved ones with us is my favorite part of working at IRC,” said Kim Casey, Volunteer Program Manager.
