IRC volunteers donate tens of thousands of hours every year. This generosity has helped restore hundreds of acres of habitat, delivered thousands of public activities, and offered countless opportunities for the community to learn about and connect with nature.

IRC offers training opportunities and pathways for a large network of volunteers looking to improve the land and their community. IRC also administers the Volunteer Program for OC Parks at 26 facilities. Volunteer contributions enabled IRC to achieve many of the Program accomplishments highlighted in the 2023 IRC Annual Report.

In 2023:

  • 538 IRC volunteers gave 30,468 hours, valued at $1,098,000
  • 833 OC Parks volunteers gave 42,037 hours, valued at $1,519,000
