Ticks, Order Ixodida
Ticks are arachnids that live on the blood of mammals, birds,
and sometimes reptiles. There are two common types: “hard”
ticks and “soft” ticks. Hard ticks have a hard exterior and soft
ticks do not have a hard exterior. Tick bites are relatively painless and you will often not realize you’ve been bitten until there is a large blood swell surrounding the area. Ticks like moist environments. Check behind your neck, knees, and groin area for the presence of ticks or bites.
