Common Buckeye, Junonia coenia
Brown wings. Forewing has two orange bars and two eyespots, larger eyespot has white band. Hindwing has two eyespots, larger eyespot has magenta crescent. Underside hindwing is brown in the wet season and rose in the dry season. Wing span: 1.5-2.75”. Host plant: monkeyflower, plantago and snapdragon. Found in open, sunny areas with low vegetation and some bare ground.
