Matthew Major - Project Manager, Restoration
Matt is responsible for monitoring and implementing several large-scale habitat restoration projects on the Irvine Ranch. These include Silverado Creek (a 45 acre mixed riparian mitigation project) and West Loma II (an 85 acre upland and mixed riparian project). Prior to working at the Irvine Ranch Conservancy, Matt was as a project manager at Habitat Restoration Sciences, Inc., a subsidiary of DUDEK. In this capacity, he managed multiple mitigation sites from the U.S./Mexico border up to the Tejon Ranch. Matt has worked in land management in many capacities, including ornamental landscape maintenance at resorts as well as at the Central Park Conservancy in New York City. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego in Environmental Systems.
