Most evacuation orders have been lifted as of today, but people should remain vigilant on current fire conditions and adhere to road closures and any further evacuation warnings. During this time and until further notice, all scheduled activities in and around the areas affected by the Silverado Fire are on hold.
We are deeply thankful to the firefighters, rangers, law enforcement, and Fire Watch volunteers who continue to protect the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks and surrounding communities during the Silverado Fire. Our thoughts are especially with the brave firefighters who were critically injured while fighting the fire.
While the burned areas will be closed to public access to facilitate recovery, there are a number of areas that remain open, including 7-day access trails in the City of Irvine’s Bommer Canyon and other coastal open space preserves. Be sure to limit outdoor activities if air quality is unhealthy.
With wildfire threats becoming ever more severe in Orange County and the Santa Ana wind season still in full swing, we want to remind the entire community of the importance of staying wildfire ready. Orange County Fire Authority’s (OCFA) “Ready, Set, Go!” provides the tools you need to protect your family, property and community from wildfires.
