Buck Gully Reserve consists of 300 acres of lush wilderness including a natural stream that runs all year long. The year-round water source provides a sustainable environment for native plant communities, including riparian and coastal sage scrub habitats that attract a variety of birds and wildlife.
In May 2020, Irvine Ranch Conservancy’s Planning and Infrastructure Crew completed an extensive number of repairs to the Buck Gully trail system including removal of overgrown trail vegetation, sustainable trail reroutes, surface erosion repairs, tread re-contouring to eliminate channelization of water and bank edge erosion, and more.
The Buck Gully trail system is open daily from dawn to dusk for self-guided access and passive use. To learn more about Buck Gully Reserve and the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks visit LetsGoOutside.org.
