Kelley Brugmann - Interpretive Specialist
Kelley develops public education and outreach programs, and leads tours on the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks. As part of the Community Programs team, she trains volunteers in leadership skills, interpretation, public interaction, and natural and cultural history; which leads Irvine Ranch Conservancy volunteers to offer the highest standard of public programs on the land. Kelley has over fifteen years of experience in environmental education, program development, and recreation administration. Prior to joining Irvine Ranch Conservancy, she worked at City of Anaheim’s Oak Canyon Nature Center and with City of Glendale’s Park Rangers. Kelley has a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies with certificates in non-profit and volunteer management and outdoor recreation administration, and a Master of Science in Recreation Administration, focusing on cultural diversity in outdoor recreation. Both degrees are from Cal State Long Beach. Kelley is certified through the National Association for Interpretation as both an interpretive guide (CIG) and interpretive trainer (CIT). As a Certified Interpretive Trainer, Kelley is an instructor with OC Parks Ranger Academy. You are most likely to find Kelley leading tiny tots along the trail or happily greeting trail visitors at Wilderness Access Days.
