JOB TITLE: PROGRAM COORDINATOR

FUNCTIONAL AREA: Restoration & Enhancement
REPORTS TO: Program Director
CORE FUNCTIONS:
The Program Coordinator would support the Conservancy’s Plant Material Development program, which produces high quality native seed and plants for restoration projects. There are multiple projects/activities housed within this program, including: wild seed collection, seed production via a native seed farm and seed processing facility, and native plant production via multiple native plant nurseries.
The Program Coordinator would be responsible to coordinate supporting activities across all aspects of the program, including contractors, staff, and volunteers. In addition, they would assist with maintenance of physical and digital plant and seed inventories, coordinate commercial plant and seed orders, and work directly with staff in the Restoration & Enhancement program to ensure their plant and seed needs are met in a timely manner.
This position would interact with staff at all levels of the organization and partner organizations including landowners, contractors, volunteers, and the community.

Knowledge/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in ecology, plant science, horticulture, natural resource management or related field and 2 years of relevant work experience. (or high school diploma and 4 years of related experience).
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and data management.
- Knowledge of regional ecology, plant identification, plant taxonomy and regional environmental challenges.
- Familiarity with nursery propagation of native plants from seed and cuttings.
- Familiarity with planting, maintaining, harvesting and processing, and inventorying native plant seed.
- Ability to schedule, coordinate, organize and manage diverse activities in a dependable manner.
- Experience conducting trainings and workshops for the public.
- Strong attention to detail. Proven organizational skills.

Working Conditions/Physical Effort:
- Work requires fieldwork with some strenuous physical exertion and/or strain.
- Work environment may involve exposure to disagreeable elements.
- Work requires extensive kneeling, stooping, lifting, and walking.
- Work requires regular lifting of objects between 10 and 50 pounds.
