County Coordinator - Fire Prevention & Management
Irvine Ranch Conservancy (IRC) restores, protects, and enhances our closest connection to nature – our local wildlands. As an innovator in the management of Southern California’s urban wildlands, IRC works in partnership with landowners, community leaders, and residents in Orange County and beyond to engage, educate, and foster a shared vision for responsible, long-term care and protection of the natural resources we all share.
THE PROGRAM AREA
Wildfires threaten the wellbeing of all the inhabitants of this region — both wildlife and human. IRC’s Fire Prevention and Management program works to reduce fire frequency and severity by engaging volunteers, regional and state-wide partners, and the community to continuously monitor wind and weather conditions, reduce ignition sources, and stop fires before they occur.

The Coordinator will also evaluate mitigation capacity and emergency preparedness for any gaps and document needs and make recommendations to further build the network.
