A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & ACCOUNTING
As the Director of Finance & Accounting, you manage all aspects of cash flow, expenses, investments, projects/contract accounting, and forecasting. You oversee all financial statements and reports to ensure integrity and reliability. Using your leadership skills you lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process and lead the annual audit and tax filing process. While working in a complex fund accounting environment, your ability to effectively organize and manage time and tasks is essential in managing multiple ongoing projects/contracts and administrative activities that require clear tracking and analysis.
You effectively communicate complicated financial information to a variety of audiences, who have varying levels of financial literacy. You also represent the Conservancy in all matters related to finance and accounting. The executive team and program leaders depend on your support and guidance regarding budgets and allocations. You serve as a trusted expert resource to internal teams.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday with flexible hours.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in finance or accounting
- At least 7 years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience including broad financial management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (non-profit and for-profit) and fund accounting principles
- Successful experience with project/contract cost tracking analysis with an understanding of shared cost allocations to multiple ongoing projects/contracts and administrative activities
- Track record of successful contact financial management
