County Coordinator - Fire Prevention & Management
About Irvine Ranch Conservancy: For more than 15 years, Irvine Ranch Conservancy (IRC) has been responsible for restoring, protecting, and maintaining more than 30,000 acres of protected natural lands in Southern California, one of the densest urban areas in the country. These lands are teeming with life — diverse plants and animals found nowhere else on earth. They need expert care to protect and restore them so they can continue to provide our communities with all the benefits that only wild, open spaces can. As an innovator in the management of Southern California’s urban wildlands, IRC works in partnership with landowners, community leaders, and residents in Orange County and beyond to engage, educate, and foster a shared vision for responsible, long-term care and protection of the natural resources we all share.
About the Position: IRC has an opening for a full-time Fire Prevention and Management Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of people and wants to contribute to program and project development and outstanding results. The primary responsibility will be assisting with implementing IRC’s 18-month Cal Fire County Coordinator Grant. This includes facilitating regular communication among stakeholders, participating in strategic project development, and analyzing mitigation capacity and emergency preparedness.
About the Program: Wildfires threaten the wellbeing of all the inhabitants of this region — both wildlife and human. IRC’s Fire Prevention and Management program works to reduce fire frequency and severity by engaging volunteers, regional and state-wide partners, and the community to continuously monitor wind and weather conditions, reduce ignition sources, and stop fires before they occur.
The Successful Candidate will have a bachelor’s degree; a minimum of two years of work experience; and the following experience, skills, abilities, and knowledge:
Salary Range: $24.00 to $26.00 ($49,920 to $54,080 annual)
Benefits: The Conservancy offers industry-leading benefits including paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave; medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings account (HSA) with employer contribution; life and short- and long-term disability insurance; optional retirement plan with company match, optional flexible spending account (FSA), optional dependent care spending plan, and optional long term care insurance with employer contribution.
