Community Engagement and Education

PictureVolunteers and staff at the Native Seed Farm
Community engagement and education is at the heart of everything that we do at IRC. It binds together all other areas of our work. Through our partnerships with landowners, community leaders, and residents, we foster a shared appreciation for our urban wildlands and a shared vision for the importance of caring for them.

IRC provides dynamic recreational activities and informal learning opportunities that local community members can join in to experience the breadth and beauty of Irvine Ranch lands. Activities include free hiking, bicycling, and fitness programs, interpretive learning classes, and special events that captivate the public’s imagination. No matter what your background or level of experience, IRC provides opportunities for you to engage with the land in ways that promote connection and stewardship.

Through the unique experiences that we offer, community members develop a personal connection to the land and a lifelong commitment to respect, conserve, and protect the precious natural resources in our midst.
