The Irvine Ranch Conservancy is a mission-driven non-profit, non-advocacy organization with a team of 50 employees and nearly 500 volunteers. Our mission is to protect, restore, and enhance the natural resources of nearly 50,000 acres of protected open space on the Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks, and to provide diverse opportunities for compatible public enjoyment through scientific, recreational, and educational programs.
The Conservancy is seeking a team-oriented and collaborative Accounts Payable Clerk to be an important part of our mission-based organization. The Accounts Payable Clerk performs all day-to-day payment cycle activities and provides efficient customer service to Conservancy employees and vendors. These activities include ensuring all invoices and receipts are approved, sorted, coded, and matched. The position tracks, processes, and reconciles payments and expenditures, invoices, and statements, ensuring that all payments are on time and in accordance with Conservancy policies. The Accounts Payable Clerk also processes all credit applications and employee check requests.

The successful candidate:
- Education and Experience – Has a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or a high school diploma and 3 or more years of related work experience. Any work experience should include a wide variety of accounts payable processes, including GAAP and accrual base accounting. Non-profit experience is desirable, but not required; must be willing to learn. Strong experience with MS Excel and Word. Database experience with the ability to produce reports is a plus.

- Communication Skills – Demonstrates sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential information. Has strong interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrated diplomacy, tact, and poise.
- Adaptability – Is adaptable and flexible with the ability to implement time-management skills in a dynamic work environment.
- Problem Solving – Ability to prioritize, resolve routine problems within the scope of duties, and complete tasks within assigned time frames, possibly in the absence of direct supervision.
